We look forward to welcoming many members and families to the 150th Anniversary Oban Games on 26th August. Please join us for the march to the Games Field which will leave from Station Square at 10.30am sharp. "Dr Whittow’s Salute to the 150th Argyllshire Gathering" will be performed for the first time at the march.
If you have not yet ordered tickets, these can be ordered via a form downloaded from the Gathering website (click here to visit the Downloads page) or by application to the Secretary. Please also send lunch orders to the Secretary.
Members should consider taking a COVID test, and will be required to observe any health and safety guidance on the day.
The principal activities of the Gathering of piping, athletics, dancing and the heavies, will all form part of the day and as many of the events around Scotland have been cancelled, we are hoping for a strong competitor turnout.
In addition Tara Coggans, Nicolas MacLean and the Oban High School Principal, Peter Bain, are working hard putting together an audio visual display within the heritage tent celebrating 150 years of the Gathering.
Games day is fantastic opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones and I would urge all members to make every effort to attend this year and bring as many family and friends as possible.
Paul Nicoll
Games Steward
